This site is dedicated to the memory of the composer Adnan Shakhbulatov. Though he is called the founder of Chechen and Ingush popular, chamber and symphonic music, he belongs without question among the outstanding figures of culture and art of the whole country.

The site was built by admirers of Adnan Makkaevich’s work. For more than ten years we gathered material about his life and music crumb by crumb in order to fill this archive. Many of the songs, suites and romances here — once recorded on magnetic tape — were found literally in the ruins of Grozny. And all of it is only a small part of what was made by the Chechen Chopin, as his contemporaries called him.
